Hello everyone! My name is Aljazi, but everyone calls me Jazzy. 🙂
I’m a twenty-one-year-old Digital Media Production student in my second year (like many of you). I have way too many interests to count, but I’d say my main three are art, music, and games! I’ve been an artist my whole life, and I dabble in both traditional and digital art. I draw and animate, although I’ve only recently started practising animation. However, since moving to the UK, I found it more convenient to stick to digital, even though I’d love to go back to trad. These are some of my recent digital pieces:
I adore music; it has always been such a vital part of my life. And as some of you can tell from the pieces above, I often draw a lot of my favorite musicians. I tend to collect physical media, such as vinyl records, merch, and CDs, as well as rare items from the artists I love. I most recently acquired the most sought-after CD from my favorite band, My Chemical Romance, after winning an auction 🙂 It was from their very first release party in 2002. I collect signed items as well! Aside from that, I also sing and play the guitar (very badly, I’m afraid).
One of my favorite things to do is attend local gigs and support small bands. I’m heavily into the Punk and Goth scene, not just for the music but for the politics and message. It’s always great to meet such inspiring and influential people from the industry! However, I also enjoy larger concerts and mainstream artists equally.
As for games, much like my other two interests, I grew up with the PlayStation 2 and Wii. I’ve always been such a huge fan of horror, so my all-time favorite game series is “Silent Hill” by Konami. I love anything in the survival horror genre, especially when it incorporates psychological twists and covers serious topics.
