Me, about one year ago

Hi guys, my name is RUI ZICHAO. You can just call me ‘Ray’, as well as the pronounce of my last name ‘RUI’. I come from Nanjing, China. It’s a special city, people looks so rude when they are talking, but you will find that they actually want to be kind with you. I hope everyone can travel here and enjoy Nanjing’s charm.

What I interest——

I’m a keen amateur photographer. Though I never learn about photography, I am still passionate for it, especially shooting figures and sceneries.

After I graduated from high school, I have been through a lonely perioed of time. In that time, I accidentally found the joy of photographing figures. I love the feeling of life I made when they exist in photos, just like they are real friends who stay with me. This figures kept me company for a extremely long time up to now, and they initially inspired my love for photography.

As I gradually began to master photography techniques, I started taking my camera outside to capture real-life seneries. Although I faced many challenges due to my lack of professional knowledge, the process still allowed me to improve and consistently produce work that I enjoy.

To me, video games are not just a form of entertainment but also a unique next-generation interactive art. I enjoy experiencing and trying to analyze the creative ideas that game developers design to delight players. I’m especially fond of games with distinctive styles, and immersing myself in those concepts brings me great enjoyment.

I also have an account on a Chinese video website called ‘bilibili’. It’s not a professional operational account, I just use it to share my gaming daily.

I believe everyone has their own favorite music, and I’m no exception. In my opinion, it is one of the most popular forms of entertainment.

My favorite song in this days. 《The Gravity》from a video game 《Guilty Gear – Strive》.
This song gave me the courage to keep going and to resist this fxxking life.

I started learning the drums more than ten years ago. Although I haven’t mastered it at an expert level, it has still become one of my most cherished hobbies. It also led me to explore a wider range of music. Metal is my favorite genre, I also enjoy more technically complex music like jazz or blues. Of course, I also appreciate great J-rock and pop.

I choose Media because——

At first, I hoped to pursue a career in Photography. However, a friend of mine who studied Photography told me that in this field, your portfolio is far more important than a degree. So I eventually decided to study Media. Perhaps influenced by my various hobbies, I also have the desire to create high-quality media by myself. As a broad field, I believe Media can greatly expand my knowledge and future career opportunities.
